This complex built mainly between 1551 and 1608 is an historical architectural monument of the Dominican Order. It consists of the Temple, the Former Convent, the Orchard and a spacious
cut-stone plaza that is slightly elevated from the traffic-free cobblestone streets below. The church is one of the most magnificent examples of baroque architecture in México and features
a strong contrast between the solemn exterior and its rich, opulent interior.
